MoFPI Seeks Proposals for New Food Irradiation Units Under PMKSY

Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) has announced an invitation for Expressions of Interest (EoI) to establish multiproduct food irradiation units. This initiative falls under the Integrated Cold Chain & Value Addition Infrastructure scheme, a key component of the Central Sector Umbrella Scheme – Pradhan Mantri Kisan SAMPADA Yojana (PMKSY), as outlined in the Union Budget for FY 2024-25.

Eligible entrepreneurs and organizations can apply for financial support, which will be provided in the form of grants-in-aid or subsidies. This financial assistance is part of the demand-driven Cold Chain scheme, designed to bolster the food processing sector by enhancing infrastructure for cold storage and value addition.

Interested parties must submit their proposals exclusively online through the official website at SAMPADA under the "PRADHAN MANTRI KISAN SAMPADA YOJANA" section. Proposals should be detailed and prepared in accordance with the scheme guidelines, which are available on the MoFPI website here. The deadline for submitting proposals is 21st September 2024

This call for proposals offers a significant opportunity for those looking to invest in food irradiation technology, aiming to advance the efficiency and safety of food processing and preservation across India.
