The Department of Water Resources, River Development, and Ganga Rejuvenation (DoWR, RD, GR), functioning under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, has introduced a Mass Communication Internship Programme. This initiative aims to engage students pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate degrees, as well as research scholars enrolled in recognized universities or institutions in India, specifically in the field of mass communication.
The internship programme offers selected candidates the opportunity for short-term exposure to the Department’s media and social media activities. This practical experience is designed for students who have completed their graduation in mass communication, journalism, or related fields. Additionally, students currently pursuing postgraduate degrees or diplomas (post-completion of their undergraduate studies in mass communication or related fields) from any recognized college or university are eligible, provided they meet the conditions outlined in the programme's guidelines.
The duration of the internship ranges from six to nine months. During this period, interns will receive an honorarium of Rs. 15,000 per month. Upon successful completion of the programme, interns will also be awarded a certificate of internship, adding significant value to their academic and professional credentials.
Applications for the internship programme are to be submitted online. The last date for submission is June 29, 2024. Interested candidates can apply through the online form available at DoWR Internship Application. For further details about the programme and its guidelines, applicants are encouraged to visit the Department’s official website https://jalshakti-dowr.gov.in/
This initiative not only provides students with practical industry experience but also contributes to the Department's ongoing efforts in media and communication, particularly in the promotion of water resources management and Ganga rejuvenation projects.
