Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare has invited applications for the consultant post in the Mahalanobis National Crop Forecast Centre (MNCFC), an associated office under the DAC&FW.
The Consultants will be hired for a one-year period, which may be extended based on the requirement, performance review, and approval of the relevant authority. The engagement, however, may not be extended beyond 5 years following superannuation or until the age of 65, whichever comes first.
Consultants will be hired on a full-time basis and will not be allowed to work on any other projects during their tenure with the MNCFC. The MNCFC has the right to cancel the engagement at any moment for any reason.
The Consultant's employment will be strictly on a contract basis, with no right to a permanent position in the Department.

Required Qualification- Retired SO/ASO. Knowledge of service rules and noting/drafting/e-office is required. Good computer skills and experience in administration, establishment, procurement procedures, secretarial matters, parliamentary issues, GEM, government accounting procedures, PFMS, and so on.
Process of Selection- Candidates that match the above criteria will be shortlisted based on criteria set by the duly formed Selection Committee. The communication will be sent to the Candidate's postal address/email address.
Age Limit- Age should not be over 64 years as on the closing date of application.
Salary- The basic pension will be deducted from the basic salary drawn at the time of retirement to arrive at a fixed monthly amount as per government regulations. For the duration of the contract, the amount of remuneration so determined should remain unaltered. During the contract time, there will be no annual increments or percentage increases.
Remuneration will also be subject to the guidelines provided by the Department of Expenditure in their O.M. 3-25/2020-E-IIA dated 9 December 2020, as well as any guidelines issued by the Department of Public Works and Transportation from time to time.
Allowance- They will be eligible for various benefits such as Dearness Allowance, residential telephone, residential housing, HRA, CGHS, medical reimbursement, and so on.
Transport allowance shall be paid in an amount not exceeding the rate applicable to the appointee at the time of retirement for the purpose of commuting between the residence and the place of work.
Leave- No leave is allowed, except for a casual leave of 1.5 days for each month of service completed. There will be no accumulation of leave beyond a calendar year.
Working Hours- Days of work will be the same as for regular workers of the office, but in the event of work emergencies, they may be needed to come in on Saturday, Sunday, or closed holidays.
