The 'MFOI Samridh Kisan Utsav' in Murshidabad, West Bengal, gathered over 250 farmers to explore the latest agricultural innovations and practices, aiming to enhance their income and promote sustainable farming.

On July 16, 2024, the Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Murshidabad, West Bengal, came alive with enthusiasm as the 'MFOI Samridh Kisan Utsav' welcomed farmers from across the region. Organized by Krishi Jagran and sponsored by Mahindra Tractors, the event focused on 'Maximizing Farmers' Income for a Prosperous Bharat.'

Supported by Somani Seedz and Everest, and with ICAR as the knowledge partner, the Utsav served as a significant platform for the agricultural community. The goal was clear: to connect farmers with the latest agricultural practices and innovations. Over 250 farmers attended, gaining valuable insights from experts on new techniques and farming-related knowledge.

The event began with participant registration, followed by the traditional lamp lighting ceremony. It was inaugurated by a host of agricultural experts and farmers. West Bengal's Fisheries Minister, Biplab Roy Chowdhury, addressed the gathering virtually, discussing the development of the Fisheries Department and state projects aimed at supporting fish farmers. Dr. Keshab Dhara from the West Bengal University of Animal & Fishery Sciences and Dr. Kaushik Brahmachari from BCKV also shared their expertise online.

Distinguished guests, including Panchayat President Rakeya Bibi, Block Agriculture Officer Golab Sheikh, Block Vice President Saibur Rahman, and ADA Bhagwangola Mahishan Das, emphasized Murshidabad's advancements in agriculture and the steps needed for further progress. Agricultural experts from the Murshidabad Krishi Vigyan Kendra, such as Dr. Uttam Roy, Soma Giri, Abu Taleb, and Samiran Patra, also contributed valuable insights.

One of the event's highlights was the distribution of certificates to progressive farmers, recognizing their contributions and achievements in agriculture. The program concluded with a vote of thanks, marking the event as a successful effort to empower the farming community and promote sustainable practices.

A notable feature of the Utsav was the display of Mahindra tractors, where district farmers explored the latest models and learned about advancements in farming technology. Stalls by Somani Seedz and Everest offered farmers a chance to discover new products beneficial for modern agriculture.
