Today, Krishi Jagran hosted the 'MFOI Samridh Kisan Utsav' at Krishi Vigyan Kendra- Hooghly, West Bengal. Sponsored by Mahindra Tractors, the event focused on the theme 'Maximizing Farmers' Income for a Prosperous Bharat.' The event was supported by Everest, with ICAR participating as the esteemed knowledge partner. The Department of Agriculture-Hooghly, and KVK Hooghly, also provided crucial support. Over 200 farmers participated and gained valuable insights into various innovative farming solutions and the latest agricultural equipment.

The day commenced with participant registration followed by a lamp-lighting ceremony. In his address, Dr Subhodeep Nath, District Horticulture Officer, Hooghly informed the gathering about farmers’ welfare schemes of the horticulture department. Apart from this, Dr Amitava Banerjee, Asst. Director of Extension Education, BCKV, Debesh Chandra Das, Deputy Director of Agriculture (WBP) & PD, ATMA, Hooghly, Dr Pratap Mukhopadhyay, Ex-Principal Scientist, ICAR-CIFA, Bhubaneswar, Madan Mohan Koley, Krishi Karmadhakshya, Hooghly, Dr Koushik Brahmachari, Director of Extension, Education-BCKV also provided insights to the gathering about many important topics. Dr Biswajit Sarakar and Sagar Tamang, Hooghly KVK shared valuable insights during an 'Interactive Discussion on Millet Cultivation and Disease Pest Management of Rice.'

Following the presentations, certificates were distributed to number of progressive farmers, acknowledging their achievements and contributions. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, marking a successful day dedicated to empowering the farming community and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.

Building upon this momentum, the spotlight shifted to the upcoming 'Millionaire Farmer of India Awards'. Sponsored by Mahindra Tractors, these awards seek to honor farmers across various categories, promoting excellence and innovation in agriculture. As the second edition approaches, Krishi Jagran invites widespread participation from all sectors of agriculture by providing an online registration platform for nominees, fostering a culture of recognition and appreciation for India's farming community.
