Mark Zuckerberg Announces New Features to Elevate Businesses in India During 'Conversations 2023'

Mark Zuckerberg, Founder & CEO, Meta, announced some game-changing features for businesses through a virtual conference at the global event 'Conversations 2023' held in Mumbai, India, that defines how Meta is leading the shift in messaging.

Meta's second annual business messaging event, 'Conversations', was held in Mumbai on September 20, 2023. It focused on highlighting how businesses are connecting with people through messaging and the impact of social media platforms like WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram to get things done in the most innovative and efficient way.

New WhatsApp Features for Indian Businesses 

Mark Zuckerberg, Founder & CEO, Meta, announced some game-changing features for businesses through a virtual conference. Starting with, 'WhatsApp Flows', which gives businesses the ability to give customized experiences within chat threads. Meta is also expanding the ways people can pay for things within a chat thread. It will bring its payment solutions to India, supporting other payment methods including all UPI apps.

Zuckerberg also announced the launch of Meta-verified businesses using WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook, letting people know that the businesses they are dealing with are completely authentic and validated. "At Meta, we insist on looking beyond the horizon when it comes to connecting. Meta's products are truly global including WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, and the newly invented threads," said, Sandhya Devanathan, Vice President, Meta India. 

Connecting with over 3.8 billion people around the world, Devanathan talks about how messaging and social media apps have driven their way into the Indian territory. She said, "Most Indians pick messaging as a preferred way to communicate with businesses. More than 200 million WhatsApp Business App users across the globe are using this app every month to grow and thrive." 

Through the WhatsApp realm, Indian entrepreneurs have been converging geographical distances, and considering their commitment, Meta is further upskilling 10 million traders in 29 States covering every corner of India in 11 languages for a period of 3 years.
