The admission is being conducted through a Centralized Admission Process (CAP) by the Maharashtra School Education and Sports Department. What is FYJC Admission?

FYJC stands for First Year Junior College, which is equivalent to Class 11 in Maharashtra. Students who have completed their Class 10 (SSC or equivalent) can apply for admission into FYJC in various streams such as Science, Commerce, and Arts. The entire admission process is carried out online and centrally managed for major cities and districts in Maharashtra.

The centralized admission process is applicable in the following regions of Maharashtra:

  1. Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR)

  2. Pune

  3. Nagpur

  5. Aurangabad (now Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar)

  7. Latur

  8. Kolhapur

Please note that the Konkan division is not included in this centralized process.

Total Seats and Streams

This year, over 20 lakh seats are available across 9,200+ junior colleges in the state. These are divided among various streams as follows:

  1. Science: Approx. 8.5 lakh seats

  2. Commerce: Approx. 5.4 lakh seats

  3. Arts: Approx. 6.5 lakh seats

Important Dates for FYJC Admission 2025

Here is the complete schedule for the Maharashtra FYJC 2025 admission process:

  1. Online registration begins: May 21, 2025 (11:00 AM)

  2. Last date for registration: May 28, 2025 (6:00 PM)

  3. Provisional merit list: May 30, 2025 (11:00 AM)

  4. Correction window for student details: May 30 to June 1, 2025 (till 4:00 PM)

  5. Final merit list: June 3, 2025 (4:00 PM)

  6. Zero round allotment: June 5, 2025

  7. First round college allotment list: June 6, 2025 (10:00 AM)

  8. Confirmation of admission: June 6 to June 12, 2025

  9. Display of vacant seats for Round 2: June 14, 2025

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for FYJC admission, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  1. Completion of Class 10 or its equivalent from a recognized board.

  2. Must have original marksheet and passing certificate of Class 10.

  3. Students applying under reserved categories should possess valid category certificates.

  2. School leaving certificate (original)

  3. Domicile certificate (if required)

In-House Quota

Students applying for admission in colleges that belong to the same trust or management as their school may be eligible for the in-house quota. However, this is valid only if the school and college share the same premises and management.

The Maharashtra FYJC admission process follows the reservation guidelines as per government rules. Seats are reserved for the following categories:

  1. Scheduled Castes (SC)

  2. Scheduled Tribes (ST)
