Oil marketing companies (OMCs) have increased the security of new cylinders, which means you'll have to pay more money if you want a new gas connection. The revised tariffs will be implemented on June 16, 2022. The latest action may be yet another setback for the common man, who is already dealing with high LPG prices as well as high gasoline and diesel prices.
Customers would now have to pay Rs 750 more for the service as a result of the recent modification. The cost of a new gas connection has increased to Rs 2200, up from Rs 1450 previously. Customers who purchase two 14.2-kilogram cylinders at the time of connection will be charged an additional Rs 1500 in addition to the connection price.
Customers will now be required to pay Rs 4,400 as a security deposit when setting up a new connection for two cylinders. This means that buyers will have to pay an extra Rs 1500 if they order two 14.2-kilogram cylinders.
LPG Gas Regulator Gets Expensive:
Customers will now have to pay a higher price for an LPG gas regulator. Customers would now have to pay Rs 250, according to the latest information supplied by the OMCs. The regulator was previously priced at Rs 150.
Security Charges for 5 KG Cylinders Increases:
Companies have also increased the security money for 5 kg cylinders. Customers would now have to pay Rs 1150 for a 5 kg cylinder, up from Rs 800 previously. Customers must pay Rs 25 for the passbook that comes with a new gas connection and Rs 150 for the pipe in the meanwhile.
In most cases, the cost of the new connection covers all of these expenses. Customers must, however, pay an extra fee if they want a stove with a gas cylinder. LPG usage in May 2022 was 28.1 percent greater than in June 2019 and 2.9 percent higher than in May 2019.
