The rising cost of cooking gas (LPG cylinders) has become a source of inflation for many individuals. A 14.2 kilogram LPG cylinder costs more than 1,000 rupees in major cities like Kolkata, Delhi, and Mumbai. The good news is that you may use the benefits of a government scheme to avoid this expensive cost.
The Ujjwala Yojana, a government initiative, provides LPG cylinders to 76 lakh families for just 500 rupees. This announcement was made by the Rajasthan government in their most recent budget for 2023-2024.
According to Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, the government would provide eligible families participating in this initiative with gas cylinders for 500 rupees each. According to the Gehlot government, families living below the poverty line (BPL) would be able to acquire 12 cylinders for 500 rupees.
Who is eligible for this?
The LPG cylinder benefit is only given to Rajasthan citizens who are below the poverty line and fall into the BPL category. Residents of Rajasthan who live in other states will not be eligible for this initiative. Benefits will not be provided until all necessary paperwork has been confirmed.
To be eligible for the benefits of the Ujjwala Yojana scheme, you must be a resident of Rajasthan and earn less than the poverty line. You must have an Aadhaar card, an income, a residency certificate, and a ration card to apply for this plan. You can apply for this scheme by visiting the official website and submitting the necessary documents.
