Life insurance for LPG cylinder connection:

Do you know that your LPG cylinder connection makes you eligible for accidental life coverage? Yes, its true, in the case of fire caused by LPG cylinder leak or LPG cylinder blast. Under it, one can get up to Rs 50 lakh life cover. According to the LPG cylinder accidental life cover rules, one will get up to Rs 2 lakh on house hold damage & Rs 6 lakh for each death. You can get up to Rs 2 lakh per head hospitalisation claim. Adding to it, a hospitalisation claim up to Rs 30 lakh is also provided.

PM Jan Dhan (PMJDY) account holders:

Under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), a Jan Dhan account holder is provided RuPay debit card & a savings bank account. The insurance cover for PMJDY account holders is Rs 2 lakh with an additional Rs 30,000 on RuPay debit card (if accidental death). These account holders are not required to pay any premium for such insurances.

Life Cover against PF account under EDLI 1976 rules:  

The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation or EPFO provides free life cover to the PF account holders. All EPFO subscribers are insured free of cost under EDLI 1976 rules once his or her PF or EPF account gets opened. These insurance claims can be done by the EPFO subscriber's nominee at times of prolonged illness, accidental death or normal death. These subscribers are eligible for life cover up to 20 times of their monthly basic salary or Rs 6 lakh, whichever is minimum. However, Life cover under EDLI is given one time to the nominee who has claimed EDLI claim.

Insurance on Debit Card & Credit Card:

A credit card holder gets accidental life cover up to Rs 50 lakh which depends upon the type of credit card & its service provider. The Indian banks give accidental life cover up to Rs 10 lakh, which depends upon the type of card the bank account holder is using. In these situations, both credit and debit card have to be operational. The nominee of the credit, debit card holder will have to claim accidental death cover within 90 days of the death of the credit, & debit card holder.

Mobile Recharge:

It is to be noted that the life cover on mobile recharge is provided by limited mobile operators. One of them is Airtel. If you are an Airtel customer, you can Rs 4 lakh term insurance on Rs 279 and Rs 2 lakh term insurance under 179 Airtel recharge plan. However, to get this benefit, these customers have to enroll themselves under the life cover plan after the Airtel recharge by sending an SMS or through Airtel Thanks App. The same can be done the authorised Airtel retail shop.
