It’s a day to beckon for the agriculture community as CSC (Common Service Center) is all set to launch its agriculture platform on May 26, 2021 at 11:00 am. The eminent speakers on the occasion will be Dr. Dinesh Tyagi, MD of CSC SPV, Mr. Sanjay Kumar Rakesh, CEO of CSC SPV, and Mr. M. C. Dominic, Editor-in-Chief of Krishi Jagran and Agriculture World.
This is an incredible moment for CSC as this agriculture platform will help it get associated with the agricultural community in a deeper manner.
About CSC
CSC is a special purpose vehicle or portal, which operates under the Ministry of Electronics and IT. So far, the center has set up 72 FPOs (Farmer Producer Organizations). It aims to set up 6000 FPOs in the next six months. According to them, there will be a FPO in every block.
CSC was approved in September 2006 and is a strategic part of the National eGovernance Plan. It is headquartered in New Delhi and provides services almost the whole of India.

“We have already received applications from around 5,000 CSC village level entrepreneurs (VLEs) who will help in this. The process of registration has started and CSC SPV has also submitted proposal to the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and Small Farmers’ Agri-Business Consortium (SFAC). These FPOs will have about one-crore farmers registered for availing various services,” said Dinesh Tyagi, Managing Director, CSC.
“Farmers in the villages can today avail all services through the CSC. They can take advice from the Krishi Vikas Kendra scientist on all aspects of farming – pest control, seeds, new technology, organic farming, horticulture, animal husbandry and weather-related information – through the CSC in their village,” Tyagi explained.

CSCs are already a crucial part of the government’s digital India initiative. The objective of this government body is to deliver services to people’s doorstep.
This body provides numerable services to farmers via their vast network of over 2.65 lakh centers, which run at the Panchayat level.
Now, with the CSC launching an exclusive agriculture platform, we can expect it to come closer to the farming community.
