Given that soybeans are a significant crop in the Latur district of Maharashtra and are frequently attacked by pests and diseases, soybean farmers should receive training in the proper use of fertilizers and cultivation techniques, a senior official said on February 25.

Siddheshwar Krishi Mahotsav 2023's inaugural event featured a speech by Latur Collector Prithviraj BP. To assist farmers, the agriculture department ought to take the lead in creating various soybean varieties.

They are in distress as a result of diseases like yellow mosaic and conch slug infecting the soybean crop, he said. Farmers are learning about various Central and State Government schemes that benefit farmers at the Krishi Mahotsav.

The price of the crop in the nation is determined by rates in the district, so he also advocated for a soybean seed under the "Latur brand."
