Latest SBI News! Customers Must Remember These 6 Online Banking Tips to Keep Their Account Safe from Fraudsters

India’s largest bank, the State Bank of India (SBI) is very much concerned about the safety of its customers. In this regard, it has now come up with 6 protocols to be safe from banking fraudsters. It has released six key tips in the letter titled, 'A letter for your safety' for customers to follow while banking online.

It has released six key tips in the letter titled, 'A letter for your safety' for customers to follow while banking online.

Message for SBI Customers 

It mentioned that people should remember the “standard rule” of never sharing one’s bank details with any unknown person. It added that it was the bank’s responsibility to safeguard its customers from online scams, the tweet reiterated the message of “Be safe. Bank safe”.

The first precautionary measure asked by SBI to people was to not click on any unofficial link which asks for “OTP or bank details in regard with EMIs or DBT or Prime Minister Care fund or any other Care fund”.

The letter also cautioned SBI users to stand clear of schemes which claim huge cash prizes or job opportunities by SMS, letters, e-mail, phone calls or advertisement.

At the same time, SBI also advised customers to change their bank-related passwords from time to time, & the account holders to use the bank’s website for the contact number and other details. It said, do not rely on any bank information found from internet search results.

SBI further added, its representatives never send “email or SMS or call their customers for their personal information, password or one time SMS password”.

It asked people to report about any fraud scheme immediately to local police authorities & inform to their nearest SBI branch.
