Ladli Behna Scheme: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced a significant increase in benefits for women beneficiaries under the state government's Ladli Behna scheme. The monthly amount of Rs 1,000 currently provided to women will be tripled in a phased manner, reaching Rs 3,000 per month.

The decision to enhance the scheme, benefiting approximately 1.25 crore women, comes just before the upcoming Assembly elections scheduled for the end of the year. During an event where the announcement was made, Chief Minister Chouhan expressed his confidence that the scheme would empower women and reduce their dependence on their husbands for financial support while visiting their maternal homes.

He even delighted the audience by singing a few lines from the popular song 'Phoolon ka taaron ka' from the classic movie 'Hare Rama Hare Krishna,' which celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters. The Ladli Behna scheme plays a crucial role in supporting women across Madhya Pradesh, where they represent a significant portion of the electorate. Out of the 5,39,87,876 registered voters in the state, approximately 2,60,23,733 are women.

Chief Minister Chouhan also took the opportunity to praise the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, commending his efforts in propelling the country towards new heights of development. He highlighted the remarkable progress made by India in various sectors during the nine years of Prime Minister Modi's tenure.

Furthermore, Chouhan discussed the cheetah reintroduction project initiated by Prime Minister Modi in the Kuno National Park, emphasizing its potential to bolster tourism in the underdeveloped Chambal region of Madhya Pradesh. The project holds the promise of attracting visitors to the state and stimulating economic growth.

Union Ministers Jyotiraditya Scindia and Narendra Tomar were present at the event in Vijaypur, lending their support to the Chief Minister's announcements. Minister Tomar, in his address, highlighted the remarkable transformation in Vijaypur and Karhal areas of Sheopur district, which now have access to safe drinking water and are self-sufficient in irrigation. He credited the BJP's governance, which came into power in the state in 2003, for these significant improvements.

Minister Scindia added that several development projects worth crores of rupees were underway in Sheopur and Chambal areas, further indicating the government's commitment to the progress and welfare of the region.
