In a significant step towards empowering farmers and rural women, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in Gondia between Maa Danteshwari Herbal Farm and the Super Woman organization for the implementation of the acclaimed ‘Kondagaon Model’. This pioneering initiative aims to promote organic and medicinal farming, train rural women in agri-entrepreneurship, and establish a comprehensive farm-to-market linkage system.
The event took place at the Government Guest House in Reltoli, Gondia, in the presence of Dr. Rajaram Tripathi, Director of Maa Danteshwari Herbal Farm and creator of the ‘Kondagaon Model’, Prachi Pramod Gudhe, Director of Super Woman, Pramod Gudhe, senior social activist Pritesh Shukla, and Director of Super Woman, Laxman Gudhe. The occasion featured detailed discussions on the operational strategy, unique features, and regional relevance of the Kondagaon Model.
Developed by Dr. Tripathi, the ‘Kondagaon Model’ is an inclusive and innovative agricultural reform framework that ensures farmers’ direct involvement across all stages—from production and processing to branding and marketing. More than a technological advancement, it serves as a holistic tool for social, economic, and psychological empowerment of farmers, especially emphasizing women’s leadership in agriculture to energize and transform the rural economy.
Dr. Rajaram Tripathi is a visionary farmer, scientific thinker, and social engineer. With three doctoral degrees, master's degrees in five disciplines, an LL.B., and over 100 national and international awards, he stands as a beacon of excellence. Having undertaken agricultural study tours across more than 40 countries, he has successfully brought global recognition to traditional and scientific Indian farming practices. He strongly believes, "Agriculture is not just a means of livelihood—it is the epicenter of innovation, management, and science. With proper guidance and structure, every village can prosper."
The Super Woman organization has long been committed to women's empowerment through education, healthcare, environmental awareness, and social justice. According to Director Prachi Gudhe, this partnership will be a milestone for women's economic and social liberation. She announced the formation of women-led agri-leadership groups at the taluka level, skill development workshops, branding and marketing channels, and the establishment of processing units as core components of this project.
Under the MoU, the initiative aims to engage over 500 women farmers in Gondia district within the next three years. Demonstration plots will be established in each taluka, certification and testing labs will be set up, and a direct connection with national and international markets will be ensured.
What began as a project has now evolved into a social movement—a convergence of rural development, women’s leadership, and sustainable agriculture. Concluding the event, Dr. Tripathi’s resonant message left a lasting impact:
