Kerala government decided to hike the storage price of paddy to 23.30 from Rs. 22.50 said Agriculture Minister V S Sunilkumar. He was answering to an adjournment motion by K M Mani MLA on the problems being faced by the rubber, pepper, coffee and paddy farmers in the State. The price hike would be effect from this season, he added.
He blamed the Central govt policies for the fall in prices of the agriculture products. He claimed that the area under paddy cultivation had increased and the government has framed a system for direct payment for paddy procurement.
