KCET Counselling 2025: Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has activated the option entry link for KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) 2025 counselling. Candidates who completed their document verification by July 4, 2025, can now fill in their college and course preferences through the official KEA website cetonline.karnataka.gov.in.
Option Entry Window Now Live
The KCET 2025 option entry window is a crucial step in the counselling process. Registered candidates can prioritise their preferred colleges and courses based on their rank and the seat matrix made available by KEA. The seat matrix provides a comprehensive overview of available seats across engineering, agriculture, veterinary, and other professional programs.
To access the option entry portal, candidates are required to scan the QR code available in their verification slip, which was issued post-document verification. This process follows the closure of the editing and verification slip download window on July 4, which allowed applicants to make corrections and confirm their eligibility for the counselling rounds.
Final Seat Matrix Released
Alongside the activation of the option entry portal, KEA has also released the final seat matrix for the first round of counselling. This includes detailed seat availability across various categories and quotas.

Mock Allotment and Post-Option Entry Steps
After the option entry window closes, KEA will release a mock allotment list, offering students a preview of how seats might be allocated based on their current choices. This allows candidates to understand the counselling dynamics and make changes accordingly.
Following this, students will have the option to:
-
Modify their preferences
-
Re-arrange course or college priorities
-
Delete any previously filled options
The actual seat allotment will depend on the candidate's KCET rank, choices entered, and availability of seats.
To aid transparency and understanding, KEA conducted a session titled ‘UGCET-2025 – Interaction on Seat Allotment Process’ on June 28, 2025. This event aimed to educate candidates and their guardians about each stage of the admission process, providing clarity on seat allocation rules and counselling procedures.
