Union Minister of Textiles Giriraj Singh on Tuesday (September 02, 2025) launched Kapas Kisan app, a new mobile application developed by Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) under Ministry of Textiles. The app aims to streamline procurement of cotton from farmers under Minimum Support Price (MSP) scheme, offering a digital solution that enhances transparency and efficiency.
Kapas Kisan app allows farmers to self-register, book slots at procurement centers, and track payments in real time. By digitizing key steps in the cotton selling process, the app significantly reduces waiting times and minimizes crowding at procurement points. Farmers can receive updates on quality assessments, accepted quantities, and payment status directly through the app, making the MSP process more convenient and transparent.
Speaking at the launch, Giriraj Singh highlighted that this farmer-focused initiative reinforces the government’s commitment to safeguarding cotton growers from distress sales. He highlighted that the app is designed to support timely and fair MSP operations while accelerating the vision of Digital India.
Key features of the app include secure registration for MSP sales, digital scheduling to manage procurement center visits, multi-language support, and real-time updates on all stages of the cotton sale. The app not only empowers farmers but also strengthens planning and efficiency in cotton procurement by reducing manual paperwork and saving time.
Giriraj Singh also noted that Kapas Kisan app will protect farmers against market uncertainties by ensuring assured MSP procurement. With this digital platform, cotton growers can choose convenient time slots, monitor their payments, and sell their produce without facing unnecessary delays or challenges.
