
K. J. Patel has been appointed as the new Managing Director of the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), one of the world’s largest fertilizer cooperatives. The announcement was made by IFFCO Chairman Dileep Sanghani.
Patel, who previously served as Director (Technical) at IFFCO, brings over 32 years of experience in the fertilizer industry. A Mechanical Engineering graduate from Saurashtra University, he has played a pivotal role in the operation and maintenance of nitrogenous and phosphatic fertilizer plants.
He also headed IFFCO’s Paradeep Unit in Odisha, the largest fertilizer complex in India. Under his leadership, the unit achieved significant improvements in productivity and operational efficiency.
In response to his appointment, Patel expressed gratitude to Chairman Dileep Sanghani and Vice Chairman Balvir Singh, stating that he was honoured by the trust placed in him and would give “more than 100% for the service of farmers.”
Congratulating Patel, outgoing Managing Director Dr. U. S. Awasthi shared a message on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “Today, I handed over the charge of Managing Director of IFFCO to K. J. Patel, who was earlier Director (Technical) at IFFCO. My heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to him as the new MD of IFFCO. God bless you.”
With his vast experience, commitment, and technical expertise, K. J. Patel is expected to steer IFFCO into a new phase of innovation and growth, continuing its mission of empowering farmers and advancing agricultural development across India.
