The Chief Minister of Jharkhand Raghubar Das said that Jharkhand would become country's organic hub in order to promote organic farming on all the 24 districts. Regarding this, organic clusters would be set up and the products manufactured would be branded as 'Jharkhand Jaivik' (JJ).
It was stated that the government has accorded focus to the rural economy as it will help to create employment, increase the income of the farmers and also check the migration of the people from the rural areas. The Chief Minister also congratulated farmers for their hard work and determination which changed the minus 4.5 percent of growth rate of Indian Agriculture into a positive rate of more than 14 percent.
The two-day ’Global Agriculture and Food Summit’ held at the Khelgaon in Ranchi Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that Jharkhand will be first state in the country where the income of the farmers will increase four times by 2022. The foreign delegates and the participating nations coupled with the enthusiasm shown by the more than 20000 farmers who attended the summit has resulted in the state that can provide highest number of organic products.
Das also evoked the farmers to work on drip irrigation, on this occasion he gave a new slogan, “Prati Boond, Jyada Fasal”. According to him revolution in the field of cultivation in the state can be brought by water harvesting and drip irrigation which will strengthen the rural economy at a big level.
Das also announced that a group of 50 farmers would be sent to Israel and another 50 to Philippines to learn the best practices of those nations. He said that Jharkhand is not competing with any other state and has a potential to compete with any developed nation of the world. He also pointed that in the pace of industrialization agriculture is always neglected and it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi who first thought of development in this sector and Jharkhand is the state which is working in its full potential to fulfill the dreams of the Prime Minister.
