According to a report, the entire sum received by the UT under CSS in 2021-22 was Rs 7,655 crore, which was increased to Rs 8,938 crore in 2022-23, representing a roughly 15% increase. Notably, since August 5, 2019, when the Centre declared its plan to revoke J-K's special status, benefits from the Centrally Sponsored Schemes have been reaching the last man in line.
According to the research, for the first time in about 70 years, around Rs 9,000 crore has reached the average man without the involvement of any middlemen or brokers, as digital transactions have assured that no one stands between the government and the people.
"The effective mechanism established after 2019 ensured accountability and transparency." The money that has been pouring into J-K is not intended for any particular segment of society. "The repeal of Article 370 has brought an end to the era of nepotism," according to the report. "From underachiever to front-runner status from 1947 to 2019, J-K received 10% of taxpayers' money for 1% of India's population despite its fragile economy," it continued.
The administration has ensured that the flagship programmes under the CSS framework receive the necessary attention. Regular evaluation sessions are organized to ensure that the purposes of such initiatives and the social objectives they serve are met.
"The Central government's guidelines for the implementation of these schemes are being followed," it stated. According to officials, in the fiscal year 2022-23, 2,63,595 persons were employed in Jammu & Kashmir through various initiatives. J-K's overall performance in terms of registering growth and progress has increased over the last three years.
“The schemes under which the employment opportunities have been created include: 1,67,932 under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), 35,564 under Mission Youth, 34,200 under Jammu and Kashmir State Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKRLM), 8,457 under Jammu and Kashmir Women’s Development Corporation (JKWDC), 5,331 under Handicrafts & Handloom sector, 2,834 under Himayat (DDUGKY), 2,818 under sheep husbandry, 2,193 under SC/ST/OBC Corporation, 1,576 under National Urban Livelihoods Mission (NULM), 2,668 under animal husbandry and agriculture production besides dozens of others under different sectors,” the report said.
