In recognition of its outstanding performance in the 'Ministries and Departments' category at the Indian International Trade Fair, the Ministry of Ayush has been awarded the prestigious Gold Medal by the India Trade Promotion Organization. The accolade was in acknowledgement of the Ministry's efforts to promote evidence-based Ayush treatment methods through a dynamic and engaging pavilion.
The Ayush pavilion, a highlight of the trade fair, featured a range of curated activities and innovative presentations that centered around scientific evidence-based approaches to Ayush treatments. The efforts were aimed at showcasing the efficacy and diversity of Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani, Homeopathy, Yoga-Naturopathy, and Sowa-Rigpa.
To foster Ayush entrepreneurship, the Ministry provided a platform for 18 Ayush start-ups to showcase their new products within the pavilion. Additionally, free clinics for Ayush medical systems were set up, offering services in Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani, Homeopathy, Yoga-Naturopathy, and Sowa-Rigpa.
Sarbananda Sononwal, the Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, and Ayush, extended special congratulations to the Ministry of Ayush for the well-deserved recognition. He commended the Ministry's continuous progress since its establishment in 2014, emphasizing that the gold medal affirms the success of Ayush in integrating evidence-based achievements and innovations into mainstream healthcare.
Despite being a relatively new ministry, the recognition highlights Ayush's emergence as a widely embraced and utilized medical system in India. The Ministry's consistent positive efforts have not only earned national acclaim but have also garnered international recognition in the field of traditional medicine.
A notable aspect of the Ayush pavilion was its emphasis on engaging the youth. The Ministry prioritized career counseling for young individuals interested in the Ayush sector, facilitated through the National Commission for Indian System of Medicines (NCISM) and the National Commission for Homeopathy (NCH).
Play and Learn, Yoga Exercise sessions, Ayush Diet showcases, an entertaining telephonic activity titled "Dadi Se Puchho," Prakriti and Mizaaj Assessment Kiosks, and a dedicated Selfie Point were among the attractions that resonated with visitors and brought attention to Ayush practices.
The success of the Ayush pavilion at the international trade fair was a collective effort, with various entities such as the Ministry's Media Cell, Central Research Institute of Homeopathy (CCRH), All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM), National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA), Invest India, Morar Ji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), National Medicinal Plant Board (NMPB), and Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy (CCRYN) coming together to showcase the rich heritage of Ayush.
