Invoking Chhatrapati Shivaji's stature, Telangana Chief Minister and BRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao announced on Sunday that his party will make a commitment to establish a government for the welfare of farmers in the nation at Shivneri, the birthplace of the former Maratha monarch.
In Maharashtra's Nanded, where the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) held its first public gathering outside of Telangana, he declared that within ten days, party cars from the BRS would travel to every village within its 288 Assembly districts to establish farmers' committees.
"We will travel to Shivneri, the location of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's birthplace, to seek blessings and make a commitment to establish a farmers' government. The process of creating farmers' committees throughout all of Maharashtra will start.” He stated, speaking in Hindi.
Leaders from different political parties joined BRS, and Rao, also known as KCR, welcomed them by giving them pink scarves. He stated that the work on the BRS party would begin in Maharashtra in the following days. BRS cars are expected to arrive in Maharashtra's villages in eight to ten days. All committees with farmers would then be established. All 288 vehicles will start simultaneously, keeping in mind the 288 Assembly seats in an effort to bring the state's farmers together ", he said.
According to Rao, the moment has come for farmers to take control of the nation because Maharashtra has the highest rate of farmer suicides in the nation.
According to him, polls show that political parties and leaders are ahead of the general public. Mr. Rao believed that the people and the farmers should win the upcoming elections because that would be a resolution to "our difficulties."
Because of this, the BRS motto is "Abki ki baar, kisan sarkar" (This time around, a government for the farmers). This will definitely demand a lot of unity. Farmers make up more than 42% of the population in our nation, and if agricultural laborers are included, the percentage rises to more than 50%, which is necessary to establish a government, according to Mr. Rao.
He stated that India is a nation of thinkers, not fools. Referencing to how the country came together and rejected the great leaders of the era when the Emergency was declared in the nation. This was done (in 1975) in response to a demand made by "Loknayak" Jayaprakash Narayan, the socialist leader of the anti-Emergency movement. He further added, “The time has come today. It's been a long time—75 years.”
“Farmers ought to be able to create laws and write them down. You must create "kisan sarkar," he instructed. Maharashtra is not a state deprived of rivers, including large ones like the Krishna and Godavari. Even yet, he questioned why there was a water deficit in Maharashtra.
“Why is Maharashtra experiencing a water shortage? Who is in charge of it? Consider it. BJP reigned for 16 years after 54 years of Congress' control. These two are known as "kasooravaar" (guilty). I want the suicides of farmers to end. The issue of water for drinking and irrigation will be resolved if a farmers' administration is established”, he claimed.
The "Make in India" effort of the BJP-led NDA government, according to Mr. Rao, has devolved into a "joke in India."
Referring the Chinese goods flooding the Indian marketplace; he asked if the overflow of Chinese products was what “Make in India” was supposed to look like.
He added that if BRS wins the election, Telangana's flagship Dalit welfare programme, "Dalit Bandhu," which provides grants of 10 lakh rupees to each household, as well as the state's "Rythu Bandhu" (for the welfare of farmers), would be adopted nationwide, benefiting 25 lakh people annually.
Stating concern for the nation, Mr. Rao has said that BRS would be working on a national level even though it is a newly formed party. He added that they were receiving support nationwide.
Even after 75 years of independence, numerous governments, Prime Ministers, and Chief Ministers in charge, Rao claimed that the nation still has a drinking water deficit, irrigating problems, and a lack of power.
After arriving from Hyderabad earlier, the minister led prayers at a gurudwara in Nanded with his daughter, BRS MLC K Kavitha, Telangana Minister for Endowments Indrakaran Reddy, and some senior party figures.
