Happiness is a feeling of joy, satisfaction, love, and peace. If you want to stay healthy, you need to stay happy. The definition of happiness is different for different people. More broadly, it is often described as positiveness and fulfillment of life desires. 

Today, 20 March 21, is the day when the world celebrates the International Day of Happiness. 

Mahatma Gandhi said that Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony. 

Why we celebrate International Happiness Day? 

Celebration of happiness day started in 2013, as the United Nations wants to spread the significance of happiness in people's lives worldwide. This day, the aim is to recognize the value and make the people understand that happiness is the most significant gift that you can gift to someone. 

In the past few years, we have recorded many suicides of common people and celebrities too; this is because of dissatisfaction, contentment, stress, and no one to share their life problems. Continuous dissatisfaction and loneliness are the biggest reasons for depression. 

How to keep yourself happy 

Here are five important tips through which you can keep yourself happy;

Laugh Every day

 

Laughing therapy is the best therapy in the world to keep you happy, which money can’t buy. 

It gives you joy, relaxation even if you are going through some difficulties in your life. 

Nurture a good relationship with your family and friends

It's great to spend time with your loved ones as they are the biggest supporters of your ups and downs. When you go up, they celebrate with you, and when you go down, they support and make you believe that everything will be alright. 

Do whatever you love

 

Keep some personal time which is yours only, do the things that you love. It can be dancing, painting, singing, sports or anything. It would be best if you gave some time to yourself to boost your energy.

Exercise, meditation, and Yoga

Physical workout like exercise and Yoga generates positive hormones. These hormones increase the happiness level and reduce the stress level. 

Meditation gives you inner peace and relaxation; you feel light from inside, and it gives you the energy to solve the issues from different angles. 

You can easily give half an hour to keep yourself happy. 

Don’t compare with others

 

The problem starts when we start comparing with others. Some parents have the habit of comparing their kid with other. They must understand that every child is unique. 

Some people start comparing their jobs, salaries, wives and so on. 

Finally, you should start finding happiness in small things rather than making a mile that is too far. You can set the target to achieve your milestone in real-time as success comes with time.  

Eat healthy food, keep your body hydrated and follow the above tips to keep yourself happy and fit.
