The Indian Veterinary Association (IVA) is the apex organization of more than sixty thousand veterinarians of the country. Every state and UT has its own association, which is affiliated to the apex organization.
IVA was registered in year 1967. It is the largest family of veterinarians acting as voice at all India level. The association feels and supports the work of veterinarians in research, medicine, practice and welfare of service veterinarians.
IVA writes a letter for filling up of vacant posts of Veterinary Officers in Animal Husbandry Department, Himachal Pradesh
Recently, IVA brought to the notice of the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, that around 102 posts of Veterinary Officers out of 467, are lying vacant.
The association submitted an application to the CM, drawing his attention towards the importance of animal husbandry in the country and need for filling up the vacant posts in Department of Animal Husbandry, Government of Himachal Pradesh.
Dr. Chirantan Kadian, President, IVA
The current President of the association is Dr. Chirantan Kadian. He graduated in December 1985 and started his Veterinary career with Government of Haryana as Veterinary Surgeon in Animal Husbandry Department.
Dr. Kadian is President of Indian Veterinary Association, Councilor, Commonwealth Veterinary Association and now, Councilor World Veterinary Association.
His main achievements have been introduction of combined vaccine of Hemorrhagic septicemia (HS) and Food and Mouth Disease (FMD) in India, relieving the animals suffering, better human resource management of veterinarians and para-professionals in the country and better logistics and financial management.
Dr. Kadian, aims to have improved veterinary education standards and introduction of veterinary practice regulations in India. He supports involvement of World Veterinary Association in activities of National Veterinary Association for betterment of the fraternity.
