Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Pralhad Joshi, recently announced that the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) will host the 4th Global Renewable Energy Investors Meet & Expo (RE-INVEST 2024) from September 16 to 18, 2024. For the first time, this prestigious event will take place outside of New Delhi, at the Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The event signifies India’s commitment to advancing its clean energy sector and achieving ambitious climate goals.
In his address, Joshi highlighted India’s aim to install 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030. This requires a massive investment of Rs. 30 lakh crore. He highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of creating a sustainable, green future for the next generation, stating, “India recognizes the importance of building a green sustainable future for the next generation.” He reiterated that this goal is a key component of India’s Panchamrit strategy, which includes the reduction of carbon emissions and the rapid expansion of renewable energy.
Minister Joshi also reviewed the preparations for RE-INVEST 2024 on September 9, 2024, in Gandhinagar. Expressing satisfaction with the progress, he noted that the government is fully committed to ensuring the success of the event, which is expected to bring together more than 10,000 delegates from various sectors, including government, industry, and finance.
RE-INVEST 2024 will focus on India's "Mission 500 GW," underscoring the nation’s commitment to expanding its renewable energy capacity. The event will feature 44 sessions, including a Chief Ministerial Plenary, CEO Roundtables, and discussions on renewable energy innovations. Additionally, high-level delegations from countries such as Germany, Denmark, and the US will attend, showcasing the international collaboration driving India’s clean energy efforts.
An exhibition will run concurrently, showcasing the contributions of both public and private sectors, as well as startups. Networking opportunities will be available through a digital platform, facilitating business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) interactions.
India has made remarkable strides in renewable energy, supported by initiatives like the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme and the Green Energy Corridor project. As India continues its journey towards a greener future, RE-INVEST 2024 is set to play a pivotal role in attracting global investments and fostering innovation in renewable energy solutions.
