In the wake of heightened tensions following India's Operation Sindoor, a strategic retaliation against terror bases in Pakistan after the deadly Pahalgam attack, rumors have begun circulating about a potential shortage of essential goods and food supplies in border areas. In response, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi has appealed to the public to remain calm and avoid panic buying.
Minister Joshi assured citizens that India has more than adequate reserves of food grains and daily necessities. He urged people not to fall for misinformation or resort to hoarding, highlighting that the country’s supply chains are fully operational and resilient.
In some parts of the country, people have rushed to stock up on essentials in response to these unfounded rumors. Reassuring the public, Joshi reiterated that the national stock of essential items far exceeds current demand and that there is absolutely no cause for concern.
Operation Sindoor was launched following the tragic loss of 26 lives in Pahalgam and has led to heightened security measures across the country. Reports suggest that Indian forces have successfully dismantled major terror infrastructure, including the elimination of high-value militants. As a result, some regions have implemented blackouts and increased security protocols as precautionary measures.
Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Pralhad Joshi stated, “Amid the circumstances arising after Operation Sindoor conducted by the Indian Army, some misleading rumors are being spread regarding the shortage of essential goods and food supplies in border areas. A humble request to the citizens of the country is to not pay attention to any such false propaganda. India has abundant reserves of food grains and essential goods available, and our supply system is fully active and capable. There is no need to unnecessarily hoard items out of panic."
He further emphasized, "At this time, the most important thing is restraint, vigilance, and unity. Maintain faith in the nation, because India is not only safe but also fully capable of dealing with every challenge.”
Citizens are encouraged to stay informed through verified sources and contribute to national unity by not reacting to baseless rumors.
