Independence Day 2023: 'Special Guests' Invited As Part Of Government's Jan Bhagidari Programme At Red Fort

Invitations have been sent to a list of special guests from “various walks of life” to attend the Independence Day celebrations in New Delhi at the historic Red Fort.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hoist the National flag and address the nation at the celebrations of the 77th Independence Day on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. On this special occasion, as a part of the government’s “Jan Bhagidari Programme”, invitations have been sent to a list of special guests from “various walks of life” to attend the Independence Day celebrations in New Delhi at the historic Red Fort.

List of Special Guests at the 77th Independence Day Celebrations

  • Sarpanches from “Vibrant Villages”. The Vibrant Villages Programme focuses on improving the living standards of people in villages near the country’s border areas. This initiative encourages people to stay in these villages thereby, discouraging outmigration.

  • Laborers who contributed to the construction of the Central Vista Project in New Delhi

  • Workers in the Khadi (hand-spun cloth) sector

  • National Award-Winning school teachers

  • Employees of the Border Roads Organization

  • Fishermen and people involved in the ‘Amrit Sarovar’ and ‘Har Ghar Jal Yojana’ projects which were implemented in the country

  • Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme (PM-KISAN) beneficiaries and their families. The PM-KISAN scheme provides financial with some exceptions to farmer’s families across the country who own cultivable land

  • 50 nurses with their families.

All these individuals are invited due to their admirable roles in their respective fields in the development of the country.

Among the 1800 invitees, Savita Rani who works as a Nursing Officer in the Blood Bank of Badshah Khan Civil Hospital, Faridabad, appreciated the initiative saying that she, her family, and the hospital staffs are elated and honored for her to be a part of this grand occasion.

Savita Rani, previously, has also been felicitated by President, Droupadi Murmu on Nursing Day for her outstanding work during the COVID-19 crisis.
