Independence Day 2023: PM Modi Greets His 140 Crores 'Pariwarjan'

Independence Day 2023: On the celebrations of the 77th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation at Red Fort. He greeted his 140 crores ‘Pariwarjan’ (Family Members) and noted the trust in the country which is at an all-time high.

On this auspicious occasion, the PM paid his tributes to every citizen who took part in India’s freedom Struggle. He also remembered the sacrifices of numerous Bravehearts who were involved in the Non-Cooperation Movement (1920) and Satyagraha Movement (1930) under Mahatma Gandhi. During his speech, he also mentioned the great Indian revolutionaries and the sacrifices of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru.

PM Modi also emphasized the key anniversaries that are taking place in this significant year which are:

  • Completion of the 150th Jayanti year of the spiritual icon Sri Aurobindo

  • 150th year of Swami Dayanand’s Jayanti

  • 500th birth anniversary of Rani Durgawati

  • 525 years of paragon of Bhakti Yog Sant Meera Bai

PM Modi announced that January 26, 2024, will mark the 75th Republic Day.

Every year on this patriotic day, Prime Minister addresses the nation at Red Fort and shares the rich history of the nation, honoring the past generation for their fearless act to bring independence to the country.

Each citizen pledges to work hand in hand, stand up for justice, and uphold the principles that define the great country, India. The ceremony ends with the hoisting of the Indian National Flag and the singing of the National Anthem.
