Indcoserve, the advisory body of the 16 cooperative tea factories in the Nilgiris named Indco factories, has introduced new joy to tea enthusiasts in Tamil Nadu, who can now purchase the special flavoured cardamom flavoured tea at reasonable prices at their retail outlets.
This Elachi tea will be accessible in retail outlets shortly alongside our flagship brand 'Ooty Tea.' We will eventually add more variants,” said Supriya Sahu, Principal Secretary to Tamil Nadu Government and Chief Executive Officer of Indcoserve.
"A particular mobile app created by Indcoserve called 'Ooty Tea,' which was introduced by the Chairman of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) GR Chintala, will carefully evaluate the supplies to the ration stores and the inventory status," she said.
"To increase sales at all public distribution system locations, we will use this mobile app," she revealed. We also launched another smartphone app named 'INDCO@TEA' to support our 30,000 representatives of small tea growers shift to a better path with on-time data like the price of green leaves, payments payable to them, field practises and weather conditions," she said."
Chintala, recognising Indcoserve's initiatives, said that this was the need of the moment as it would help improve productivity. He said NABARD will concentrate on helping farmers face their problems and sell their produce from the farm.
Srinivasan Sreeram, Indcoserve's advisor and team lead for this initiative, described how it can help boost farmers' sustainability, outlining the technological aspects of these applications.
Farmers were encouraged to gain from the app by Nilgiris District Collector Innocent Divya, Indcoserve Chairman Sivakumar, General Manager M Akbar and Deputy General Manager Sankaranarayana Pillai.
