After high import duties of 40% and 50% on the import of sugar lately, Government is planning to curb the duties by 0% and welcome duty-less sugar import in the country. This has been a point of discussion anticipating the crunch in supply of sugar in the coming festive season. Though the monsoon has helped for a good crop this year, steps are in consideration for unhampered supply of sugar in the market. Lately, as an impact of GST and less supply in the market, sugar has seen inflated price rise.
