The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted widespread rainfall in several states over the coming days, bringing much-needed relief to some regions while raising concerns of potential waterlogging and disruptions in others. As per the latest forecast, multiple states are set to witness moderate to heavy rainfall due to prevailing weather systems.

According to IMD’s latest update, a cyclonic circulation over central India is contributing to the ongoing wet spell. On April 3 and 4, states such as Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha are likely to receive significant rainfall. Southern states, including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, may also experience scattered showers. Meanwhile, northeastern states like Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are expected to witness heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms.

The national capital, Delhi, and parts of northwestern India, including Rajasthan, Haryana, and Punjab, are not expected to receive significant rainfall in the coming days. However, Delhi will experience partly cloudy skies with gusty winds up to 30 kmph, and temperatures will range between 37-39°C.

Coastal regions, particularly in Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal, have been advised to remain cautious due to possible heavy downpours. IMD has issued thunderstorm and hailstorm warnings for regions like Vidarbha, Telangana, Jharkhand, and parts of Madhya Pradesh and East Rajasthan. Fishermen in these regions have been warned against venturing into the sea, as strong winds and rough sea conditions are expected. The IMD has also issued yellow and orange alerts in various districts, urging local authorities to take necessary precautions.

Farmers in the affected regions have been advised to secure their crops and avoid harvesting during this period. The unseasonal rainfall may impact standing crops, particularly wheat and mustard, in states like Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. However, experts suggest that the showers may benefit summer crops in certain areas by boosting soil moisture levels.

Meanwhile, a fresh heatwave is expected between April 6-9 in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana, with temperatures rising by 3-5°C in Northwest and Central India. The IMD has advised residents to prepare for high temperatures and stay hydrated.

As the rainfall continues, residents are urged to stay updated with official weather alerts and take precautions to avoid any inconvenience. The IMD will continue monitoring the situation and issue further updates as necessary.
