The India Meteorological Department issued a new set of weather warnings on Tuesday, forecasting heavy rains in the northern states over the next three days (February 23-25). According to the most recent report, the cyclonic circulation over northwest Afghanistan at middle tropospheric levels has caused cyclonic circulation over northwest Rajasthan and Punjab.
While approaching Western Disturbances have altered weather conditions in central and northern India.

In Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, widespread to light-moderate rainfall/snowfall is predicted over the next two days, with scattered rainfall and snowfall likely over the next three days.

Isolated thunderstorms and lightning are expected to occur over the region during the next two days. Over the northeastern states, isolated heavy rain/snowfall is also possible.

Over the next five days, isolated light rainfall is very likely across north Punjab, north Haryana and Chandigarh. Rainfall is expected in Uttar Pradesh between February 24 and February 26. Rainfall is expected in north Rajasthan on February 23, according to the India Meteorological Department.
