Over the next five days, the meteorological service predicts typical weather with no heatwave in most regions of the nation. Multiple heatwaves hit the country in March, April, and May, with temperatures reaching 45 degrees Celsius in many areas.
The blazing heat in the northwest region was severe, although it has subsided in recent weeks thanks to rain in certain areas. According to RK Jenamani, a senior scientist at the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the rain will fall in the western Himalayan area due to the western disturbance, and Delhi will be gloomy for the next two days.
The weather department had previously forecasted gloomy conditions in the national capital, with the prospect of light rainfall during the day.
"Temperatures in most regions of India are below average and normal due to rain." In the next five days, there will be no heatwave," Jenamani was reported as saying by news agency ANI.
The Southwest monsoon has also expanded into further portions of the south Arabian Sea and parts of Lakshadweep, according to him. He also stated that circumstances are favorable for the southwest monsoon to proceed further. "The monsoon is expected to arrive in Kerala in two to three days... The presence of clouds has risen over the Kerala coast and the southeast Arabian Sea in the previous 24 hours," a senior IMD official said.
Meanwhile, Delhi's lowest temperature on Friday morning was 25.5 degrees Celsius, a few degrees below normal.
According to the weather service, maximum temperatures will gradually climb by 2-3 degrees Celsius throughout most of the northwest and central India during the next three days, with no major change thereafter.
Rainfall Predictions:
On the 30th and 31st of May, heavy rainfall is expected over sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh; on the 27th and 31st of May, heavy rainfall is expected over Assam, Meghalaya; and on the 27th, 30th, and 31st of May, heavy rainfall is expected over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.
The IMD has expected scattered rainfall over Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal for the next 5 days in southern India. On Sunday, Kerala is anticipated to receive a lot of rain (May 29).
