Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Karnataka, Tamil Nādu, and other southern states may also see severe rain during the next few days.
For the next two days, a yellow alert has been issued for Mumbai and the nearby districts of Thane, Palghar, and the Konkan region.
According to the official, the IMD has predicted isolated thunderstorms with lightning, light to moderate rain, and gusty winds (30 to 40 kmph) on Saturday and Sunday.
According to civic officials, the city began to experience continuous cloud cover and rain in the afternoon, with certain areas of the city seeing strong downpours and thunderstorms. As stated by a civic official, between 11 am and 2 pm, the island city, eastern, and western suburbs got average rainfall of 1.05 mm, 9.12 mm, and 1.28 mm, respectively.
According to him, up to 35 mm of rain fell in four hours in eastern suburbs like Vikhroli, but there were no reports of significant flooding in any part of the city.

Over Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh from 8 to 11 October, Haryana on 8 and 9, East Rajasthan from 8 and 9, West Madhya Pradesh from 8 to 10, and East Madhya Pradesh on 8 and 11 October, it is very likely that there will be fairly widespread/widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated/scattered heavy falls, thunderstorms, and lightning.
Over Uttarakhand and West Uttar Pradesh from October 8-10, there is a high likelihood of isolated, extremely heavy rains; in East Uttar Pradesh on October 8.
Scattered/Fairly widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm/light expected over Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal on October 8th-11th; Konkan and Goa and Telangana on October 8th; Rayalaseema and North Interior Karnataka on October 8th, 9th, & 10th; South Interior Karnataka on October 9th-11th; and Kerala on October 9th & 10th.
Fairly widespread/widespread light to moderate precipitation is forecast for October 8, with isolated heavy falls likely over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, and Bihar.
Over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya from October 8 to 11, as well as over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on October 10 and 11, there will likely be moderate to heavy rain with occasional isolated falls and thunderstorms/lightning.
