IMD Issues Orange Alert for Delhi: Heavy Rainfall Expected for Next Two Days

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted widespread rainfall activity across Northwest and Central India over the next five days.

Gujarat continues to witness heavy rainfall for the second consecutive day, Delhi braces for moderate to heavy rain on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Heavy Rainfall in Gujarat:

Following heavy downpours on Monday, the IMD issued a red alert for several districts in Gujarat until today. The weather department anticipates heavy rainfall in South Gujarat and Saurashtra-Kutch regions. The rain shall continue till the 3rd of July.

IMD's Orange Alert for Delhi:

The IMD has issued an orange alert for Delhi, forecasting cloudy skies for the next week with moderate to heavy rain expected for the next two days.

Flood Situation Worsens in Assam:

The flood situation in Assam has worsened, affecting over 6.44 lakh people across 19 districts. At least eight rivers are flowing above the danger mark, with the Brahmaputra breaching its highest flood level.

IMD's Weather Prediction for the Next Five Days:

The IMD predicts widespread light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning across Northwest and Central India for the next five days.

Rainfall is expected in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and parts of Chhattisgarh.

The IMD has issued red alerts for several states, including Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, and Meghalaya, which are expected to witness heavy rainfall until July 4th. An orange alert has been issued for Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Goa until July 5th.

The IMD warns of active monsoon conditions prevailing across Northwest, East, and Northeast India over the next 4-5 days.
