Sawant, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Balasaheb Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth Dapoli, Maharashtra inaugurated and launched ICLeaf and ICL Crop Advisor Tool in presence of eminent personalities such as Prof. Uri Yermiyahu, Interim Head, ARO Volcani Institute, State of Israel, Dr. Menachem Assaraf- Regional Agronomist Europe and Turkey, Sagi Katz & Liran Shmuel, Agmitax Israel.
ICLeaf is a cutting-edge system of expert guidance, recommendations, and foliar assessments that keeps farmers up to date on pesticide management. The number of different nutrients in the leaves of the crops can be analyzed with the use of XRF (X-ray Fluorescence) and NIR (Near Infrared Spectroscopy) equipment in the ICLeaf laboratory, and scientific studies will be sent to the farmers through crop advisors.
Nutrient deficiency elimination methods will be mentioned in the crop advisory report. In addition, nutrient management at different phases of crop growth can be done precisely according to the crop's requirements through ICLeaf.
Compared to the previous approach, this technique greatly simplifies the precise and speedy diagnosis of foliar nutrients and management of crop fertilizers.
