The Kharif season is currently being sown by farmers all throughout the country. In such a circumstance, all farmers are focused on preparing for the kharif crops. During the Kharif season, paddy, maize, jowar, bajra, moong, groundnut, sugarcane, soybean, urd, tur, jute, cotton, and other crops are mainly grown.
Soybeans are one of the most important crops cultivated during the Kharif season. This is why, even now, the farmer brothers are enthusiastically preparing for soybean production. As it is known that the highest amount of protein and oil is found in soybean. In such a situation, the demand for soybean is always there in the market. Farmers can earn a profit of lakhs by doing advanced cultivation of soybean.
Krishi Jagran has inducted ICL India's Sr. Organized a webinar with agronomist Dr Shailendra Singh on the theme of "Nutrient Management in Soybean Cultivation." Dr Shailendra Singh discussed in detail nutrient management in soybean cultivation with Krishi Jagran. By using this information, farmers may produce more by practicing more modern soybean farming. So, let's go through the highlights of this webinar in this post.
Nutrient Management in Soybean Cultivation:
Starting this webinar, Dr Shailendra Singh said that soybean is cultivated in 121 lakh hectares all over India, out of which Madhya Pradesh (55.580 lakh hectares) is the largest. Apart from Madhya Pradesh, it is also cultivated more in Maharashtra and Rajasthan. At the same time, the average production of soybean in India is around 1 ton per hectare, while its production capacity is up to 3-3.5 tons per hectare. In such a situation, let us know, what are the reasons, which become a hindrance in reaching its production capacity.
Major problems and solutions of farmers related to soybean cultivation:
Problem- Lack of availability of seeds of improved varieties
Solution- Talking to Krishi Jagran, agricultural scientist Dr Shailendra Singh said that ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research) has brought 25 improved varieties of soybean in view of the smart climate. In such a situation, I request the farmer brothers to go to their nearest ICAR center or Krishi Vigyan Kendra and find out about the seeds of improved varieties and use them in agriculture.
Problem- Pest management problems
Solution- Regarding pest management inside soybean, he told that after planting seeds and before, farmers need to do soil and crops treatment. Use the related medicines available in the market on time.
Lack of Fertilizer Management
Farmers need to pay attention to soil fertilizer management.
Weed Management- This needs to be given main attention.
The problem of erratic monsoon also hinders good yields.
Important advice for farmers:
Agricultural scientist Dr Shailendra Singh, while advising the farmers, has told them that 20-25 kg per hectare of nitrogen should be used in soybean for the supply of nitrogen at the initial stage of the crop.
At the same time, the high amount of phosphorus encourages better root development, nodulation and flower development in soybean crops.
Phosphorus at the rate of 60-80 kg per hectare has been recommended at the time of sowing in soybean crops.
In this entire webinar, Dr Shailendra Singh has given many important information to the farmers about the cultivation of soybean through a graph. You can also watch this webinar by visiting our Krishi Jagran's Facebook page.
