
ICAR - Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), has announced exciting job opportunities in agricultural research and technology. The Division of Agricultural Physics at IARI, Pusa, New Delhi, is looking to fill multiple positions under the FASAL 2.0 and KRISHI projects. Funded by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and ICAR, these projects aim to enhance agricultural productivity through advanced research in geospatial crop modeling, remote sensing, and IT-driven solutions.
The vacancies include positions for Research Associates (RA), IT Professionals, Senior Research Fellows (SRF), Young Professionals (YP-I), and Office-Cum-Lab Assistants (OLA).
ICAR-IARI Recruitment 2025: Vacancies & Roles
Two Research Associate (RA) positions are open for skilled professionals in geospatial crop modeling, where selected candidates will work on integrating satellite and remote sensing data into crop simulation models. The role requires expertise in spatial data analysis, programming languages like Python and R, and proficiency in software like ENVI and Google Earth Engine. Candidates with a Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Agricultural Physics, Remote Sensing & GIS, or related fields are encouraged to apply, with salaries ranging from Rs 61,000 to Rs 67,000 per month plus HRA.
A Full-Stack Developer position is open for an IT Professional-IV, responsible for creating and managing databases, developing user-friendly interfaces, and integrating forecasting systems with external data sources. The role requires expertise in relational and NoSQL databases, programming languages like Python and JavaScript, and knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS and Google Cloud. The selected candidate will receive a salary of Rs 60,000 per month, with a 3% annual increment.
For those looking for hands-on research opportunities, three Senior Research Fellow (SRF) positions are available. These roles require expertise in remote sensing, crop modeling, and machine learning applications in agriculture. Responsibilities include data acquisition, developing biophysical products using satellite imagery, and running simulations for spatial yield forecasting. The salary for SRF positions ranges from Rs 37,000 to Rs 42,000 per month, along with HRA benefits.
A Young Professional-I (YP-I) position is also available for candidates with a bachelor’s degree and a computing certification. This role involves data entry, GIS mapping, and field surveys, offering a monthly salary of Rs 30,000. Additionally, one Office-Cum-Lab Assistant (OLA) position is open for candidates with a bachelor’s degree and experience in office management and IT tools, with a salary of Rs 25,000 per month.
Age Eligibility
For Research Associates (RA), the maximum age limit is 40 years for men and 45 years for women. The IT Professional-IV role requires candidates to be between 21 and 45 years. For Senior Research Fellows (SRF), the age cap is 35 years for men and 40 years for women. Both Young Professional-I (YP-I) and Office-Cum-Lab Assistant (OLA) positions have a maximum age limit of 40 years for men and 45 years for women. Additionally, relaxation in upper age limits is applicable as per government norms, providing benefits for SC/ST, OBC, and PwD candidates.
