The ICAR-Central Research Institute for Jute and Allied Fiber (ICAR-CRIJAF), Barrackpore had organized a National Hindi Language Festival and Rajbhasha Seminar from 24-25 August, 2022. The main objective of the sangoshthi was to deliberate on the concerns related to the implementation of rajbhasha in the day-to-day administrative work of the officers/employees associated with Official Language working in various Institutes/Directorates/Bureau etc. of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The theme of the symposium was “Development of official language Hindi in the 75 years of Freedom".
Ajay Kumar Thakur, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Barrackpore embellished the inaugural session as the Chief Guest. A.K. Jolly, Chairman and Managing Director, Jute Corporation of India Ltd. and Seema Chopra, Director (Official Language), Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi were the Guest of Honor. The program was presided over by Dr. Gouranga Kar, Director, ICAR-CRIJAF.
Dr. Kar welcomed all the dignitaries and explained the importance of this national-level event to popularize Hindi as the official language in every field of official activities of the Government of India. Dr. Kar highlighted the initiatives taken by the institute to inspire the employees to work more on Hindi and informed that the institute has ensured two awards from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi for the work done in the field of Official Language.
Ajay Kumar Thakur, Commissioner of Police and Chief Guest described Hindi as the backbone of Indian culture and told that we should also emphasize on the Hindi language in education and its use in official actions.
Guest of Honour, Ajay Kumar Jolly, Chairman and Managing Director, Jute Corporation of India Ltd. said that the seminar being organized on the occasion of the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav will prove useful in the promotion and propagation of Hindi.
Seema Chopra, Guest of Honor shared with the participants about the importance of this workshop and gave a brief overview of the seminar. He said that during this workshop various topics would be discussed, which would increase the knowledge of the participants through the use of Hindi in official and scientific work.
About 150 officers from various institutions of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research participated in the two-day National Level Hindi Language Festival and Rajbhasha Sangoshthi.
