IARI Invites Farmers to Procure Certified Wheat Seeds

The Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) in New Delhi has announced the availability of certified wheat seeds, aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and enhancing crop quality for farmers across the nation. This initiative underscores the government's commitment to supporting farmers by providing them with high-quality seeds that are crucial for successful wheat cultivation.

Available Wheat Varieties

A variety of certified wheat seeds are being offered to cater to different farming needs. The available varieties include:

  1. HD 3271 - 40 kg - Rs.2000

  2. HD 3298 - 40 kg - Rs.2000

  3. HD 3406 - 40 kg - Rs.2000

  4. HD 3226 - 40 kg - Rs.2000

  5. HD 3369 - 40 kg - Rs.2000

  6. HD 3059 - 40 kg - Rs.2000

  7. HD 3385 - 40 kg - Rs.2000

  8. HD 3386 - 40 kg - Rs.2000

In addition to the 40 kg packs, there are smaller quantities available for farmers looking to experiment or those with smaller landholdings:

  • Additional Varieties: Small quantities (10 kg each) are also available for ₹500.

These varieties have been specifically developed to suit various climatic conditions and soil types, ensuring that farmers can select the most appropriate seeds for their particular agricultural circumstances. Each variety is designed to maximize yield and resilience against pests and diseases, promoting sustainable farming practices.
