"I Applaud this Much Needed Initiative by Krishi Jagran & AFC India": Dr. Vijaya Lakshmi at FPO Call Center Launch

Several eminent personalities including K. V. Somani, CMD at Somani Kanak Seedz, Dr. Dinesh Chauhan, VP, New Initiatives DeHaat, and Daya Shankar Singh, President of UP FPO Association also participated in the event.

Dr. Vijaya Lakshmi Nadendla, Joint Secretary (Marketing), Ministry of Agriculture, inaugurated the FPO call center today at Krishi Jagran’s headquarters in Delhi. MC Dominic, Founder & Chairman of Krishi Jagran and Agriculture World, Shiny Dominic, Managing Director of Krishi Jagran & Agriculture World along with Mashar Velapurath, MD, AFC India Limited were present at the event that was conducted in a hybrid mode.

While speaking at the event, chief guest Dr. Vijaya Lakshmi Nadendla said, “I have seen Kisan call centers that have been very beneficial to farmers in answering farmers' queries. In line with that concept, Krishi Jagran and AFC have started India's first FPO call center which will be helpful for the development and functioning of FPOs. The FPO call center will bear the important responsibility of helping FPOs by solving their queries. I congratulate the two organizations on the launch of this initiative.”

About Dr. Vijaya Lakshmi Nadendla

With 24 years of service in the Indian Administrative Service, Dr. N. Vijaya Lakshmi is a senior civil servant for the Indian government. She received her MA in Anthropology from the University of Hyderabad and her Ph.D. in Management from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. She has put a lot of effort into problems pertaining to gender equality and women's empowerment. In 2002, the Hisua block of the Nawada district was designated as the first child-labor-free block in the nation, making her a pioneer in the establishment of several social welfare programs.

She worked in different departments and played a key role in putting various programs for the advancement of women, children, and underprivileged communities into action. She received several awards for her efforts in a variety of fields, including agriculture, animal husbandry, cooperatives, gender equality, etc. Under her direction, the Agriculture Department earned two consecutive Krishi Karman Awards for Bihar's highest-ever rice and wheat yield.
