The payment app claims to be the first UPI TPAP app to launch the Aadhar-based UPI onboarding procedure. This implies that users can choose the Aadhar card option on the PhonePe app for the onboarding process and enter their Aadhar last six digits instead of their debit card information to begin the onboarding process.
Previously, as part of the UPI onboarding process, a debit card number had to be provided in order to set up a user's UPI PIN for the PhonePay app registration procedure. Those without a ready debit card were prohibited to access due to this restriction. The e-KYC flow based on Aadhar has now made the registration onboarding procedure easier.
Users of PhonePe can choose the Aadhaar card option on the PhonePe app to complete the onboarding process and to do so, they must enter the last six digits of their Aadhaar. To complete the authentication steps, these users would need an OTP from UIDAI and their respective banks.
