Arogya Setu is a mobile application developed by the ministry of electronics and IT. The app was launched on April 1, 2020, to track the coronavirus cases across the country by the Government of India.
How Arogya Setu mobile app works?
This app is designed to inform its users regarding risks, best practices & relevant advisories pertaining to the containment of Covid-19 pandemic. The tracking is done via Bluetooth & location-generated social graph. It calculates the user's risk of infection based on regency and proximity of the coronavirus patient. Interestingly, the app is available in total 11 languages, English & 10 Indian languages.
Aarogya Setu mobile app has a self-testing tool, in which users are asked many questions. If some of the answers suggest Covid symptoms, then the information will be sent to a government server. Thus, allowing the government to take the timely steps & start the isolation procedure for that particular person, if required.
How to Download/Install Arogya Setu mobile app?
The app is available on both the platforms i.e. on android & iOS mobile phones. Users can download the app from Google Play Store or from Apple App Store respectively. Till date, over 10 million people have downloaded the app.

It is to be noted that, while registration, the app says that "Your data will only be shared with the Government of India. The app does not allow your name and number to be disclosed to the public at large at any time."

First open the Arogya Setu app on your mobile phone.

Now, on the home page tap self assess option.

Choose your gender on the new page.

Enter your Full Name.

Then, enter your Age.

Choose your Profession.

Now, you have to select the Countries travelled outside in the last 30 days.

After that, the app will ask you whether or not you are ready to volunteer in the times of need.

Assuming you answer Yes, a 20-second assessment test will start.
How to do a self-assessment test on Arogya Setu mobile app?
1. A new page will come up with a pop saying "Please note that information from this chat will be used for monitoring & management of the current health crisis and research in the fight against COVID-19" and questions will appear on the screen, you have to answer all the questions.
2. Once you have answered all your questions, the app will show your infection risk. It would recommend you to take Self- Assessment Test if you develop any covid-19 symptom or come in contact with a confirmed patient.
