Haryana's Deputy Chief Minister, Dushyant Chautala, has announced a new provision wherein 50% of the government's revenue generated from agricultural land will be allocated to the panchayats.
This step aims to empower gram panchayats by enabling them to invest these funds into development projects. Dushyant Chautala made this announcement during his visit to Patharwali, Bajina, and Alampur villages in the Bhiwani district.
He emphasized that this measure would accelerate the progress of development initiatives in rural areas. He also highlighted the state government's efforts to enhance the lives of farmers, workers, and laborers. In response to the request from Alampur village residents, the Deputy CM pledged to construct an e-library in the village.
Dushyant Chautala pointed out that the government had effectively addressed farmers' concerns by implementing the Bhavantar Bharpayee Yojana and Crop Insurance Scheme. He highlighted that farmers can now sell their crops directly from their farms, eliminating the need to wait for market transactions.
The Deputy CM emphasized the ease of access to welfare schemes through online platforms. With approximately 600 services available online, people can conveniently avail themselves of government services through Common Service Centers (CSC) near their homes. He underscored the government's commitment to providing transparent services to the public.
Dushyant Chautala also mentioned that the government had undertaken 294 projects under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA), including the construction of a Kirtan Bhavan for women. He shared that, on August 15, around 500 schools in the state would be named after martyrs. He attributed the increased transparency to the substantial rise in funds deposited in the government's account through registries, from Rs 6,100 crore in 2019 to Rs 10,400 crore presently.
