India is an agriculture economy. From Green Revolution to White Revolution, the main aim is to show self sufficiency and in view of the increase in population in 2030 & 2050, the worldwide scientist are working on the alternate source of the food for the food security. So, the state is having the Rainbow Revolutions for the overall development of the state.
Telangana recently introduced the Rythu Bandhu scheme, which shall be creating the NEW Revolution. The Pink is added for the alternate food apart from the crops to grow or the milk availability.
IT Minister KT Rama Rao on said the State would soon witness green, pink and white revolutions, following the implementation of various schemes initiated by the Government in the last four years.
The Minister was speaking after the launch of the second phase of sheep distribution programme, along with Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, in Sircilla town.
Referring to a Telugu saying Paadi-Panta (milk and crop), he said the State Government was going ahead with a twin strategy to strengthen rural economy. To export meat to other countries, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao instructed setting up of meat processing units in rural areas. For the purpose, a Cabinet Sub-committee was also constituted. He and T Srinivas Yadav were working on it, he said
Around Rs 1,000 crore income was generated through 60 lakh sheep distributed under sheep scheme last year. There was a possibility of getting more profits if the meat was exported after processing in the industries.
There was also a possibility of generating income by exporting fish being raised in tanks renovated under Mission Kakatiya. Some 46,000 tanks were renovated across the State, he said. With a view to increasing milk production, Animal Husbandry Department would distribute buffalos to rural people soon, he added.
On the other hand, Rs 4,000 per acre was being given to farmers under Rythu Bandhu scheme, which is going to create a new revolution.
