The Green House Subsidy Program by the Department of Agriculture, Government of Rajasthan is empowering farmers to take a significant step toward modern and profitable farming. Under this scheme, farmers receive substantial financial support (subsidy) to set up green houses, controlled environment structures, where they can cultivate high-value crops such as vegetables, fruits, and flowers throughout the year, regardless of external weather conditions.

Objective of Green House Subsidy

The primary objective of the Green House Subsidy Program is to enable farmers to earn higher income by cultivating high-value crops throughout the year. Controlled environment farming not only enhances productivity but also ensures better quality and reduces the risk of crop damage due to weather conditions.

Subsidy for All Farmer Categories

The Program provides substantial financial assistance to make green house farming affordable:

  • General category farmers receive a 50% subsidy on the total cost.

  • Small, marginal, Scheduled Caste (SC), and Scheduled Tribe (ST) farmers are eligible for a 70% subsidy.

  • The subsidy is applicable for a maximum area of 4000 square meters, based on unit cost or department-approved rates, whichever is lower.

This financial support makes it easier for farmers from all backgrounds to invest in sustainable farming infrastructure.

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible for this scheme, applicants must:

  • Own cultivable land with a reliable irrigation source.

  • Submit essential documents such as:

    • Recent Jamabandi copy (not older than 6 months)

    • Aadhaar/Jan Aadhaar card

    • Soil and water test report

    • Quotation from approved firms

    • Proof of irrigation

    • Relevant category certificate for eligible farmers

How to Apply

Farmers interested in availing the benefits can apply through their nearest e-Mitra center. Once the application is approved and administrative clearance is granted, construction of the green house can begin.

Verification and Subsidy Payment

Post-construction, the green house will be verified by a designated committee. The approved subsidy amount is then either transferred directly to the farmer’s bank account or to the producer firm, based on the farmer’s written consent.

Subsidy Validity

The scheme is valid only for the current financial year, so farmers are strongly encouraged to apply early. Subsidy is provided only after the green house is constructed by an approved firm and verified by the Agriculture Department. Applying early increases the chances of receiving timely administrative approval, ensuring smooth construction and hassle-free subsidy disbursement.

Green House Subsidy is a promising initiative aimed at transforming traditional agriculture in Rajasthan. Through this scheme, farmers can adopt modern cultivation techniques, increase their income, and build a more secure future. Interested farmers are advised to apply on time and meet the eligibility requirements to take full advantage of the scheme’s benefits.
