Casualties caused due to road accidents every year are more dangerous than Covid-19. Therefore, it was seen & observed that there is need to motivate general public through cash rewards & certificates to help the road accident victims in emergency situation and to boost their morale and also to inspire and motivate others to save lives of the victims.
The Award will be Rs 5000 per victim saved and if more than one bystander is involved then the prize will be distributed equally among them. Every cash award will be accompanied with a certificate of appreciation. An individual can be awarded a maximum 5 times a year.
In order to get the related data for the reward, the ministry will start a new portal, where every month the details of the name, address, mobile number, incident information, etc. of the citizen helping the injured will be entered on the portal by the district administration. Local police or Hospital trauma center staff will also be able to upload this information on the portal.
