The Agri India Hackathon was conducted through video conferencing on December 31, 2020, at Krishi Bhawan in Delhi, chaired by Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar. It was attended by agricultural scientists and agricultural experts from across the country including Union Minister of State for Agriculture Kailash Choudhary and Parshottam Rupala and interacted with the participants.

Addressing this digital dialogue, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Kailash Choudhary said that the Modi government has brought many schemes to alleviate the problems of farmers. Choudhary said, “Our government, dedicated to farmers, considers farmers to be the providers. In the last six and a half years, the Modi government has worked keeping in mind the needs of the farmers. During this period, Modi government has done so much work for the benefit of farmers, which has not happened before any government.”

After the program, Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Kailash Choudhary said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's emphasis is on increasing the use of technology in agriculture and allied sectors and promoting agro-entrepreneurship to make new experiments. Under this, the 'Innovation and Agro-Entrepreneurship Development' program has been adopted under the National Agricultural Development Scheme.

Kailash Choudhary said that Prime Minister Modi has also talked about emphasizing on linking traditional knowledge of Indian communities with the skills and technology of youth and agriculture graduates. With this, the full potential of Indian agriculture in rural areas will be exploited.

Union Minister Kailash Choudhary said that under Prime Minister Modi's instructions, Hackathon is organized twice a year to solve the problems related to farming and make components and equipment as per the need; this has caused many problems for the farmers engaged in farming easy to do.

Regarding the meeting between the government and farmer organizations on the issue of agricultural law on Wednesday, Minister of State for Agriculture Kailash Choudhary said that two of the four proposals of farmers have been agreed. The environment ordinance has been agreed. In such a situation, burning stubble is not a crime now. Also, the issue of electricity bill has also been resolved. On the other hand, the issue of new agricultural laws and MSP will be discussed again on January 4, in this meeting held in a good environment; almost 50 percent of the issues have been agreed.

Kailash Choudhary said that the farmers had proposed four proposals, out of which two have been agreed. Discussion on the law on MSP is going on. The MSP will continue, we are ready to give written assurance on the MSP. Minister of State for Agriculture said that there is respect and condolences to the farmers. It is hoped that there will be agreement between the farmer and the government.
