Delhi: It was the 10th round of negotiations between the farmers and the government today. And finally, government has proposed to put the agricultural laws on hold for 18 months. At the same time, farmers’ organizations have planned to meet tomorrow, after which they will reply in the next pre-planned meeting between farmers’ organizations and the government on 22 January.
About today’s Meeting
Once again, government explained the benefits of the three farm laws to the farmers in today’s meeting and also told that farmers of the other states are supporting these farm laws. And, these laws are for the interest of the farmers. But farmer leaders told that we just want the return of these laws. And the government also told that farmers to withdraw the plan of tractor rally on Republic day, but farmers refused.
The Proposal for Suspension for 18 Months was Given
In the 10th round of negotiations, the government has proposed the suspension of new farm bill for one and half year and told the farmers to stop the protest movement, but farmer leaders have rejected this proposal in the meeting.
Government will not Withdraw the laws
The Agricultural Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that the government is ready for a point-wise discussion with you, but will not withdraw these farm laws under any circumstances. The Agricultural Minister added that the committee of leaders of the government and farmers’ organizations is formed, till the middle path is found, we will put these laws on the hold.
And, the government is also ready to give this affidavit in the Supreme Court.
Next Meeting on 22 January
Now, the farmers’ organizations will meet tomorrow, and after that there will be the meeting of farmers’ organizations and Central government on 22 January. And after that, any further decision will be taken.
